Can Cats Eat Ham?

A beloved meat for hurried sandwiches and a festive staple, ham is also great for sharing with your cat. Should you avoid this meat or is

ham okay for cats to eat? Even though ham is a protein source, there are several situations in which your cat should never eat it as a

snack. Because they are obligate carnivores, cats can only obtain their nourishment from the nutrients present in meat items. A great

approach to give these nutrients is with ham, which is a lean source of protein. But not every ham is made equally. Cats love home-

cooked ham, but manufactured ham items from the deli are considerably less likely to be healthy for them. They often include an

abundance of ingredients that may be harmful to your cat, such salt and spices like onion or garlic, which are poisonous to cats.
